BorgWarner has completed its acquisition of Santroll Automotive Components for up to $220 million by 1st April, 2022.
Tianjin Santroll Electric Automobile Technology Co., Ltd was established in 2001 and dedicated to providing all types of driving control system technology.
With more than 800 employees, Santroll produces hairpin motors for electric passenger vehicle. Santroll owns 984 patents inside and outside of China, it is one of the top 3 in Hairpin motor industry in the world in terms of patent numbers.
As one of the largest vehicle components suppliers in the world, BorgWarner is listed in the top 25 suppliers in the global automotive industry, sales revenue in 2021 was up to $14.84 billion.
Starting from 2015, to respond quickly to the requirement of electrification of the vehicle industry, BorgWarner acquired Remy International in motor industry for up to $950 million, and acquired Delphi Technologies for up to $3.3billion in 2020. The acquisition of Santroll’s hairpin motor business is expected to strengthen BorgWarner’s portfolio breadth in motors.
The acquisition also reflects the commercial value of Santroll’s hairpin motor division , and the comprehensive advantages of Santroll’s product, process, automation and R&D abilities have been internationally recognized.
